These pieces were created by ZPots in honor of my late son Ryan Lanford. He was 37 years old and viewed the world through the eyes of a child… believing that anything was possible. He was diagnosed with a genetic syndrome called 22q.11.2 deletion syndrome at the age of 16.
ZPOTS has joined with us and 22q in raising the awareness of the genetic disorder. The cup of wonderful is inspired by Ryan's love of the world, curiosity and his nickname "Mr. Wonderful". The cup's color choices are an expression of Ryan, his favorite color purple and his orange wild hair. Proceeds will be given to the 22q foundation to fuel their mission of raising awareness, helping communities and research.
approximate size = 5x4x4
holds about 12 ounces of your favorite drink
ZPOTS are microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe.
Each cup varies slightly due to its handmade nature.
It is estimated that between 1 in 4,000 and 1 in 6,395 individuals have 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. It is suspected that 22q11.2 deletion is more common than previously reported given how much symptoms can vary and the likelihood that some individuals remain undiagnosed. Because each person diagnosed with 22q presents a unique set of the possible 180+ symptoms, it is difficult for even the best doctors to recogonize.
